Personal project: Old craft in young hands pt. 5

For my current personal project “old craft in young hands” I accompanied young and talented stonemason Jan Dittmeier during his day in his workshop close to Würzburg. The project itself contains of various reportages about young craftsmen interpreting traditional crafts in a modern way.

A blind man and his house

Wolfgang Hermann builds a house of 930 sqm. Apart from its fairly big size nothing special one might think. But Hermann is has been blind for over 40 years and started to build his new home in the 90s from scratch and until now he built more than 320 sqm of walls, installed over one kilometer of electric wires and used more than 3,5 kilometers of wooden panels.

A portrait of a fascinating man for HORNBACH. Check out the story and the interview at their Macher-Blog.
