MUC-BCN-MUC.

11:

During these last weeks I’ve been doing a lot of thinking on the future of this blog and finally decided to change various aspects.

I am going to include young photographers, blogs, zines, exhibitions that emerge from my four-year hometown Barcelona into Kalte Burger as I recognized that since the day I left and came back to Munich I wouldn’t hardly notice anything that happens in photography in the catalonian capital.

That way I hope to achieve some kind of photographic exchange betwenn both cities and maybe this can be a platform for future collaborations, exhibitions or projects including artists from MUC and BCN.

In the course of these changes I will take my own work from this blog and present it via tumblr in the future. Plus my new website will be online soon…

project rename: dorfjugend -> no way home

After getting quite away from the original idea and as the title “dorfjugend” then created some confusions I decided to change it into “no way home“.

To recall what this project is about, please read the following statement.

“After years of travelling around and living in various german and european cities, I got tired of the hectic pace and anonimity and reached back to the little town I grew up in, situated in the very south of Germany, hoping to experience again the feeling of security and nearness of my youth. Same town, same house, old friends…basically nothing’s been different than before.

But that’s been exactly the problem: nothing had changed but me.The farer and longer I got away the more my emotional bonds seemed to vanish – I did actually feel close to some people and places but, for the most part, that has been called for beautiful memories.

Right now I almost felt like a stranger as there was almost nothing to give to eachother and even less to say. All of a sudden that town again seemed to be too narrow, too tiny for me to live in and I realised that coming back was the wrong way and that I feel much more comfortable in a place where I’ve got all the possibilities wide open.”
