I just discovered Munich based photographer Noémie Stegmüller doing research for a new project. Her series about the Oktoberfest and her landscapes in Nachtlandschaften are especially worth seeing.

(MUC) exhibition sunday: david lachapelle. mbf-kunstprojekte.

David LaChapelle in Munich?I actually didn’t have a clue myself until a few days ago.

The reason why hardly anybody knew about this exhibition that the location – mbf-kunstprojekte – is situated in a small room in the basement of a building at Maximilansplatz 9 in downtown Munich and that there surprisingly has been hardly any advertising. On their website they claimed to have just a small selection, so my expectations weren’t too high when I got there today.

But I’ve been surprised in a positive way: a small and simple cellar room containing more images than I thought (around 10) and providing a pretty good insight into LaChapelle’s work. There are also several books to look at if you want to see more.

Altogether the exhibition isn’t what you would call a “must see”, but it’s well curated and worth a visit if you don’t know his work or haven’t ever been a LaChapelle exhibition.

Admission is free, you just have to find the bell. Until 1st of April, Wed-Fri 2 to 7 pm, Sat 10 am to 4 pm.

As I will try to show some of my own work from time to time besides the posts about the photographic scene in and around Munich, I wanted to start posting some pictures from the trip to my former hometown Barcelona. Actually I’ve been down there to present some of my work at the LA FABRICA shop (Daniel” and “Nice to meet you“) but I spent also some time running around with my camera of course…
